Planning Custom-Fit Artificial Grass for a Commercial Property

Practical artificial grass advice from the Saygrass archive.

A commercial artificial grass area should be planned around the people using it and the work needed to maintain it. A neat finish matters, but so do access, drainage, edges and the suitability of the complete installation.

Define what the space needs to do

Describe the expected footfall, furniture, deliveries and any temporary event use. Identify doors, drains and routes that must remain accessible. Confirm who is responsible for permission, the existing base and ongoing maintenance.

Agree a site-specific specification

Ask for the proposed grass, base preparation, joins, edging and fixing method to be set out in the quotation. Any fire, accessibility, impact or other performance requirements need evidence for the proposed system; an attractive grass sample is not a certification.

Allow for cleaning and future work

Artificial grass requires debris removal and cleaning. Discuss how furniture will move and how damaged sections could be reached. Retained planting can provide living greenery and habitat that artificial grass does not.

For a temporary installation, see event grass hire. For a permanent project, contact Saygrass with the address, dimensions and intended use so we can confirm the next step.
