What to include in a school or nursery enquiry
Describe whether the area is for general outdoor use, a play space with equipment, or a defined sport. Include a plan if available, the site address, approximate dimensions, existing surface and any required product or system specification. Tell us how deliveries and workers can access the site without crossing occupied areas.
Identify who will approve the proposed surface and what evidence they need. A grass sample shows appearance and feel; it does not establish impact, fire or sporting performance. If another contractor is preparing the base, the handover condition and responsibility for defects must be agreed.
Make maintenance part of the handover
Agree who will inspect the edges and joins, remove debris and report damage after installation. Explain likely foot traffic and how the site can be accessed for future maintenance. Repairs and replacement should be considered separately from routine cleaning.
A school lawn and a specified sports pitch require different discussions. For football or rugby systems, use our sports installation enquiry and send the sport and performance brief.
Start with the purpose of the space
A quiet seating area, a nursery garden and a play area can have different requirements. Tell us how pupils use the space, the current surface and the issues you want to address before a system is proposed.
We can discuss replacement of existing artificial grass as well as new work. The quotation states the grass, any shockpad, edge treatment and preparation included.
Plan access and working arrangements
School projects often need defined access routes, working hours, delivery arrangements and separation from occupied areas. We agree the site-specific requirements and documents before work starts.
If a shockpad or impact performance is required, the complete surface system and its evidence must be specified. Artificial grass by itself is not a guarantee of impact protection or suitability for a particular fall height.
Aftercare matters
A surface used by many pupils still needs care. Remove debris and inspect edges and joins, and report damage rather than leaving it to develop. We also offer artificial grass maintenance.
To discuss a project, book a survey or email the site details, desired installation period and any existing specification.
