A useful quotation reflects the whole job, rather than only the price of a roll of grass.

What affects the cost of artificial grass installation? — Saygrass project

The existing garden

A clear, level site with easy access is different from a lawn that needs excavation, waste removal, level changes or drainage work. What lies beneath the surface can affect the specification.

At a survey we check the conditions we can see and discuss the preparation needed. Your quotation should make its assumptions and scope clear.

Materials, layout and access

The chosen grass, total area, roll layout, edging, joins and base materials all influence cost. Small lawns can have a higher cost per square metre because labour, transport and preparation do not reduce in direct proportion to the area.

Restricted access, steps, parking or a route through the house can affect how materials and waste are moved. Mention these early so the quote is based on the actual job.

Compare the same scope

Check whether both quotes include removal, base preparation, grass, edging, fitting, waste disposal and VAT. Compare warranty terms and the stated product, rather than just the final number.

A low supply-only price is not comparable to a full installation quote. Ask what is excluded and confirm the preparation, edging, drainage and any access-cover adjustments needed for the artificial grass.
